Discord Payment Bot Fees Explained: Platform vs Stripe Costs
Learn how platform fees, processor fees, subscriptions, and payout costs change what you actually keep from a Discord sale.
October 7, 2026 · Timber
There are usually two different fees
A platform fee is charged by the monetization service. A processor fee is charged by Stripe, PayPal, or another payment provider. A service advertising 0% platform fees may still pass on processor costs, charge a monthly subscription, or add fees for specific payment methods.
Timber’s platform fee is plan-based: 5% Free, 2.5% Pro, and 1% Ultra. Stripe processing is separate and varies by country, card, wallet, currency, and transaction type.
A simple way to compare offers
- Calculate the platform percentage on your expected monthly sales.
- Add any mandatory monthly subscription.
- Check whether refunds, chargebacks, crypto conversion, or payouts carry separate charges.
- Confirm whether the advertised fee applies to one-time sales, renewals, and custom payments.
- Compare the fulfillment features you would otherwise need to buy separately.
Why the lowest percentage is not always the lowest cost
A 0.5% platform fee can be attractive, but a mandatory subscription, limited payment methods, or manual delivery can change the total cost. Timber’s 1% Ultra tier is designed to be predictable for growing communities while including roles, subscriptions, keys, content, custom payments, and sales analytics in the same workflow.
